There is no correct cleaning interval, only the one that matches how your household actually uses the space. Four questions get you to it faster than any general rule.
How many people, and how much are they home? A couple who both work away from the house all week generates far less than a family of five with everyone home by four. Headcount matters less than hours spent inside.
Are there pets, and do they shed? A shedding dog is the single biggest argument for weekly instead of biweekly. Hair does not wait politely for a schedule, and by day ten it is in places a regular visit was not planning to reach.
What are the floors? Carpet hides for longer and then needs more when it is finally done. Tile and hardwood show dust in days but recover quickly. A tile-floor house on a biweekly schedule usually looks better than a carpeted one on the same interval.
And the honest one: what do you actually do between visits? If dishes, counters, and a quick tidy happen on their own, monthly can hold. If the last thing anyone wants after work is a chore, biweekly is the realistic floor, and weekly is what keeps the place from ever feeling behind.
A reasonable default for most Tucson households is a deep clean to start and biweekly visits after it, then adjusting once you have seen how the place looks on day thirteen. It is a much easier decision to make with real evidence than in advance.
